Home child care provider (NOC 44100) – designed to help foreign workers who provide in-home care for Canadian seniors or persons with disabilities to become permanent residents of Canada.
Home support worker (NOC 44101) – designed to help foreign workers who provide in-home child care services to become permanent residents of Canada.
Under the program, eligible candidates must have a valid job offer in Canada as a home support worker or home child care worker, and meet the program’s requirements
Language Requirement – CLB 4 in all four abilities
Education requirements – One-year post-secondary education or Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from an approved organization.
Work Experience – 24 months of full-time work experience in one of the eligible occupations Home child care provider (NOC 44100) or Home support worker (NOC 44101) within the past 36 months ( Note – It cannot be a mix of both NOCs)
Applicants without 24 months of experience (Category A – Gaining experience)
Applicants who are otherwise eligible but who do not yet have the 24 months of qualifying Canadian work experience at the time of their application for permanent residence will receive an Occupation Restricted Open Work Permit (OROWP. Within 36 months of the issuing of the OROWP, the applicant must demonstrate that they have obtained at least 24 months of authorized full-time work experience. Any qualifying work experience claimed must have been obtained within 36 months of the issuance of the OROWP.
Applicants with 24 months of experience (Category B – Direct to permanent residence)
Applicants with at least 24 months of qualifying Canadian work experience at the time of application submit their proof of qualifying work experience upfront in their application for permanent residence. The applicant must demonstrate that they have obtained a total of at least 24 months of eligible full-time work experience in Canada in the 36 months preceding the time of application.
