Dependent Child Sponsorship Program

The Dependent Child Visa Program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their dependent children to come and live with them in Canada as permanent residents.

To be eligible for sponsorship under this program, the child must be under the age of 22 and unmarried, or be over the age of 22 and financially dependent on their parent due to a physical or mental condition.
The sponsorship process involves two stages: first, the sponsor must submit an application expressing their interest in sponsoring their child; then, if selected, the sponsor must submit a complete sponsorship application, along with the required supporting documents, to the government.

If the application is approved, the sponsored child will receive permanent resident status in Canada. As permanent residents, they will have the right to live and work in Canada, access healthcare, and eventually apply for Canadian citizenship.
